The teams at Combo and Powershop Marketing went for the jugular in creating Electric Games for Winterrific (2021). Working with Voyager Interactive in Buenos Aires we delivered three online games (Light the Kite, Power Tower and Flash & Bash) on a shoestring.
I oversaw typography, UI components and splash screen illustrations. The UI components were created by deconstructing the typeface Modesto Poster. Elements like scorecards, shields, locks and trophies were built from the shapes of different letters. Special characters (eg. ∑ø∆) replaced certain letters to accentuate the overall aesthetic of a '18th-century-cyborg-inventor'.
We delivered the three games through social platforms, with digital banners and a full homepage take-over of the Powershop website. It provided a huge uplift in brand engagement across all channels, including an internal competition for employees. It was an amazing project to be a part of.

We’ve reprogrammed cybots, stealing the super minds from the inventors of decades past. They’re robotic contraptions - half-human, half-machine. Help them before disaster ensues.
They’re easy to play and difficult to master. The more you play, the greater your chances to win a $2000 Prezzy Card because for each time you play, you’ll get an entry into the Grand Prize draw.

Benjabot Frankletin needs to harvest all the electricity he can to charge up his kite. Help Benjabot snatch it from the lightning bolts by flying the kite as high as possible.
It’s easy to play but difficult to master. As you go, you’ll gain speed - the faster you go, the higher the kite flies. But watch out - there are obstacles along the way that you’ll need to avoid. Tap to jump and keep ol’ Benjabot out of danger.

Nikaloid Nestla is building a tower but he’s short-circuiting and can’t get it right. Help Nestla with his tower by stacking the components on top of each other. The more accurate you are, the higher your points. Each component of the tower is held by a mechanical arm which will move right to left, getting faster all the time. Tap to release each section and don’t forget to aim for the centre.

Merzap Currbieboz is radiating. Her wires are crossed and it’s close to causing a toxic calamity. Merzap must flash her x-ray tubes and you’re the only one who can help. Tap the button that corresponds with the x-ray tube that she wants to light up. There’s a timer and each time it’s only going to get shorter. Light up as many tubes as you can to get the points you need. It’s a tough ask, but follow Merzap’s instructions and you’ll be just fine.
